Catching Elephant is a theme by Andy Taylor
Unfortunately this is going to be a long one so forgive me, but I really thought this would be the best place to put a warning out about FA user Chyuu (and more recently Sibyl.). They’re incredibly emotionally manipulative, misgender others constantly, and will do just about anything for a bit of free art. They’re also a rather popular furry, and very recently a target of ED (which is relevant to the story sadly). I’ve heard I’m not the only being that’s had this kind of run in with them, and hopefully sharing my information might prompt others to comment too.

I met Chyuu on my second time back to FA. At first we talked briefly because they seemed nice enough, but I noticed from the get go that a lot of the stuff they said was problematic. We became particularly close after my partner and I took an indefinite break, and I found a lot of comfort in their company, especially after I drew them something for free. Which I don’t really doubt now is what started the entire process.
After a few weeks of conversation they said they had developed a crush on me and we’d been talking almost constantly so I’d pretty much gone ok, cool to that. However one night they began acting increasingly distant to me and wouldn’t give me an explanation.

After that I received a message from a mutual friend, with quotes from a conversation she was having with Chyuu at the same time.

Now, it’s no secret I’m genderfluid. After identifying with he/him and they/them pronouns for so long, at the time of this conversation I was just beginning to open up to she/her pronouns again, but even then I wasn’t entirely comfortable with them. To be referred to as ‘female’ in such a way was so harmful to me, that it began the very steady decline of our friendship.

The next morning I messaged Chyuu, telling them I wasn’t interested in pursuing a relationship with them, as everything that happened the night before proved to me that we were much too different and that my partner and I were eventually getting back together. They began to blame our mutual friend and accuse us of working together the night before, and claiming that misgendering me was an accident. Never with an apology, just pushing the blame away from themself and onto us.

After that I thought it was over. I rarely heard from Chyuu, except for a rather sudden question out of the blue;

I didn’t hear from them for about a month or so. I began working full time so I didn’t have time to contact them anyway. Out of the blue a week or two ago they messaged me suddenly about a friend.

By ‘like us’ they mean being genderfluid. Helping people with their identities has been a really soft spot for me, especially if I’m being told that the other being is scared or upset and confused. So of course I helped this new friend, messaging them on and off through notes on FA while I talked to Chyuu on skype.

I promised to help this friend, named Sibyl, in making a small reference of a body type that would more suit their identity, telling them to just pay me when they could as it didn’t really matter to me. Meanwhile I was growing progressively more disgusted with the way Chyuu continued to misgender Sibyl, and now that I look back on it, it makes me even angrier when I realize it was a ploy to think the two weren’t the one and the same.
So I fell for the bait, did the art, and Chyuu seemed to fall off the face of the planet. So I began talking to Sibyl in bits and pieces. It was then that an Encyclopedia dramatica page came up. I hadn’t known anything about a page on Chyuu, and I was really disappointed to hear that the1y suddenly had one, and I took a quick look to be up to date on the situation. I didn’t read most of it, as ED really isn’t a reliable source of information at all, but one thing in particular really stood out to me; a screencapped conversation of Chyuu admitting that they let their dog lick them. So I expressed my concerns, while taking into consideration it could be fake.

It was only when my partner, a week or so later, asked if Sibyl (who was now watching their fa account) was Chyuu. It was then I made the connection, so I asked.

Apparently pretending to be someone else to get free art and opinions that I can only assume they thought I would not say to their face isn’t lying.

I honestly can’t tell if they were being earnest or if they were trying to manipulate me into staying, but at this point I firmly told them that I didn’t want to talk anymore.

Telling me that they wished they would die struck a chord with me, as it was the same tactic an ex used to keep me from leaving them. This entire situation spanned over several months and wore me down so badly that last night I closed my FA account. After that, I had several people coming to me, sharing screencaps of them doing this to other people, and wishing they could have said something to stop them. I’m very nervous about putting this out there, as I’ve never called someone out before, but I ask that others please be careful around this user. They are Chyuu and Sibyl. on Furaffinity, and I don’t recommend associating with them at all.
